Human Resources

Welcome to Human Resources!

We are a medium-sized school system (5,500 students), located in a dynamic part of North Carolina. We are only 30 minutes from Charlotte, which is host to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, NFL Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, and other minor league baseball and hockey teams. Kannapolis is the home of Dale Earnhardt and the NC Research Campus. Please join us as a world-class biotechnology center expands at the NC Research Campus and Kannapolis continues to reinvent itself as a renewed city focusing on excellence in science and wellness. Kannapolis is also one hour from Greensboro; two hours from the mountains; and four hours from the beach. Our town is a great place to raise a family and is convenient to all the amenities that appeal to young and old alike. North Carolina is known as the "Variety Vacationland," and Kannapolis is in the heart of it all!

We are proud of our new teacher induction program and our great mentors, who are specially trained to help our novice teachers. We have a tuition reimbursement program for both certified educators and non-certified staff members working on a higher degree. Public school teachers from out of state qualify immediately for in-state tuition rates at our excellent state university system--UNC-Charlotte is only 20 minutes away. Our local teacher supplements are very competitive. One out of three KCS teachers has earned graduate degrees and receives a ten percent pay increase, while one out of five KCS teachers has earned the high honor of holding National Board Certification and the accompanying twelve percent pay increase!  Our school system is a superb place to begin or continue your teaching career.
